Herbs that start with A

Abelmoschus: genus of tropical coarse herbs having large lobed leaves and often yellow flowers.

-Studies have proven that abelmoschus seeds used in a small population of patients had reduced sugar levels.

Abelmosk: bushy herb of tropical Asia grown for its yellow or pink to scarlet blooms that resemble the hibiscus.

– The abelmosk is mostly cultivated for its musk-scented seeds that contain oil commonly used in perfumes.

Flowers that start with A

Acroclinium roseum: flower of southwestern Australia having bright pink daisy like papery flowers; grown for drying.

– The florist made a beautiful work decorating the place for the wedding reception. She used hundreds of Acroclinium roseum brought from Australia.

Aerides: any orchid of the genus Aerides.

– The gallery displays a collection of bright and colorful Aerides pictures.

Alii: a small Hawaiian tree with hard dark wood.

– The Hawaiian fields are filled with aalii trees and their beautiful red flowers.

– The aldrovanda vesiculosa is a rootless carnivorous plant that floats in water, but don’t worry it just eats insects!

Alisma: small genus of aquatic or semiaquatic plants.

-It is known  that the alisma is used in Traditional Chinese Medicine by cutting the root and let it dry.
